Privacy Policy

Toolio is designed so that your data never leaves your browser. We do not run a backend that receives your files or inputs.

One exception: a few tools need a server — document conversion (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HWP to PDF), the background remover, image-to-text (OCR), HTML to PDF, and website screenshots. These send the file or input you choose to our own server, process it, then delete it immediately. If our own server is temporarily unavailable, most of those tools fail over to Cloudflare, our infrastructure provider, and document conversion moves to our own backup server in Korea. Nothing is stored in either case — the one difference is that a document waiting for the backup server is held until you download the PDF, and is cleared automatically within 30 minutes. No other tool sends your data anywhere.

What we do NOT collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate usage, such as page views and which tools are popular. GA4 uses cookies. It never receives the content you process in any tool — your files and inputs stay in your browser. You can opt out by installing Google's browser opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

We also keep anonymous, aggregated counts in our own database, so we can see which tools people use and whether they actually work. We never read or store your IP address for this. Alongside how often each tool is used, we count how many attempts finish successfully, how many fail (and the error type, such as a server timeout), and when someone tries a file format we do not support yet — which tells us what to build next. These are counts and short labels only, never the content you process: we record that an unsupported format was attempted, not the file itself. This data contains no personal information, names, or email.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display ads on tool pages. AdSense may set cookies to serve and measure ads; you can manage ad personalization in your Google Ad Settings. For visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, a Google-certified consent banner asks for your permission before any personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used; until you consent, ads and analytics run in a limited, non-personalized mode, and you can change or withdraw your consent at any time through that banner.

Third parties

Some heavy tools load open-source libraries from this same site (no third-party CDN). One exception: if our OCR server is unavailable, Image to Text runs the OCR engine in your browser instead and downloads that engine, plus the language data, from a public open-source CDN — in that mode your image never leaves your device. The optional focus video in the Pomodoro timer loads from YouTube only after you start it. The site is served via Cloudflare, which also acts as the backup processor for the server-side tools listed above when our own server is unavailable.
