🪪 Passport Photo Maker

Turn any photo into a regulation passport or ID photo right in your browser. Crop to the exact millimetre size for your country at true print DPI, line the face up with on-screen head guides, straighten a tilted shot, swap the background to white or light blue, and export a print-ready sheet of copies. It's free with no sign-up — and the cropping, sizing and printing run entirely on your device.

How your file is handled. This tool needs server processing: your file is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), processed, and deleted right after — it is never stored.

About

This tool crops and sizes a photo to official passport and ID specifications. Pick a country preset (Korea / EU / Schengen 35×45 mm, USA & India 2×2 in, UK, Japan, China visa, Canada, Australia) or enter a custom millimetre size, then choose 300 or 600 DPI so the exported image prints at the true physical size. Head and eye guide lines help you position the face to regulation; zoom, drag and a straighten slider let you frame it precisely. For the background you have three options: keep the original, replace a plain background with white/light-blue/grey using a local colour key (no upload), or use AI auto-removal that sends just that one photo to our server over HTTPS (the same engine as the Background Remover tool, deleted right after) and composites the cut-out onto your chosen passport background — this handles hair well. Finally, export a single photo or a print sheet (4×6 in or A4) that tiles multiple copies with cut lines for cheap printing at any photo lab. Cropping, sizing and the print sheet never leave your browser; only the optional AI background step uses the server.

How to use

  1. Upload a photo (drag and drop or click). A clear, front-facing shot with even lighting works best.
  2. Pick your country or size preset and set the print resolution (300 or 600 DPI).
  3. Drag, zoom and use the straighten slider to fit the head between the red guide lines and centre the eyes.
  4. Choose a background: keep original, replace the colour locally, or auto-remove with AI, then set white or light blue.
  5. Download the single photo, or download a print sheet (4×6 in or A4) that tiles several copies with cut lines.

FAQ

Is the Passport Photo Maker free?
Yes, completely free — no account, no subscription, and no watermark on your photo. Just upload, crop to size, and download.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
Cropping, sizing, colour-key background and the print sheet all run entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Only the optional 'Auto-remove (AI)' background step sends that one photo to our server over an encrypted connection, where it is processed and deleted immediately. If our server is temporarily unavailable, that one step falls back to Cloudflare, our infrastructure provider, under the same rule: nothing is stored. If you keep the original or use 'Replace colour', your photo never leaves your device.
Will it print at the correct physical size?
Yes. The exported image is rendered at the exact pixel count for your chosen millimetre size and DPI (for example 35×45 mm at 300 DPI = 413×531 px), so when printed at that DPI it comes out at the true physical size. The print sheet keeps the same DPI.
Does the AI background removal handle hair well?
The AI option uses a strong free matting model that cuts out hair far better than a simple colour key. And because passport photos are composited onto a solid white or light-blue background, any soft edges blend in cleanly — so results usually look natural. For already-plain backgrounds, the local 'Replace colour' option avoids any upload.
Which countries and sizes are supported?
Presets include Korea, the EU/Schengen area, the UK, Japan, China (visa), Canada and Australia, plus the 2×2 inch (51×51 mm) format used by the USA and India. You can also enter any custom millimetre size, and head-position guides adjust to each preset.
