Every symbol on this page is a standard Unicode character, not an image or a font. That is why it survives copy and paste: the app you paste into stores the same code point your phone uses for letters and emoji, and draws it with whatever font it has. It also explains the one thing that can go wrong. If the receiving device has no font that contains a character, it shows an empty box or a question mark instead. The character is still correct and will look right on devices that have it. Common symbols such as ♥ ★ → © and the box-drawing lines are supported almost everywhere; rarer ones such as the Egyptian hieroglyph birds 𓆉 or combined nickname marks need a recent system font, so check how they look on the platform before you commit to them.

Some symbols exist in two looks. ❤ and ☀ can be drawn as flat black text or as colourful emoji, and the app decides unless an invisible variation selector follows the character. A few entries here include that selector (❤︎ ♥︎ ☁︎) so they stay in the plain text style. If you want the emoji look instead, pick the emoji version in the same group.

Nickname decorations need extra care in games. Many games cap names by character count, and a single decoration can be several code points: ๖ۣۜ is three characters glued together and ×͜× is three as well, so a name that looks short can hit the limit. Some games also reject symbols outside their allowed set or replace them with question marks after you save. Try the name in the game before sharing it.

The Hangul filler (U+3164) and the Braille blank (U+2800) are real characters that render as empty space, so apps treat them as text.
