About
Income tax follows the 2026-03-01 NTS simplified withholding table (국세청 간이세액표, 별표2). The taxable base is your monthly gross pay minus the non-taxable allowance; the table sets the tax by pay level and number of dependents. For children aged 8–20 a child deduction is subtracted (20,830 KRW for one, 45,830 KRW for two, plus 33,330 KRW per additional child). Local income tax is 10% of the income tax. This is a monthly withholding figure — your real tax is settled at year-end (연말정산). All calculations run client-side, so your figures never leave your device.

FAQ
- How is Korean income tax withheld from a salary?
- Employers withhold monthly income tax using the NTS simplified withholding table (간이세액표), based on your taxable pay and number of dependents/children. Local income tax is an extra 10% of that amount.
- Is this the exact tax I will pay?
- No — it is a monthly withholding estimate. Your final tax is settled through year-end tax settlement (연말정산), which reflects deductions and credits and can result in a refund or additional payment.
- How much is the child deduction in the simplified table?
- In the 2026-03-01 simplified table, the child deduction (ages 8–20) is 20,830 KRW for one child, 45,830 KRW for two, and 45,830 KRW plus 33,330 KRW for each additional child beyond two. (The year-end child tax credit is a separate, annual figure.)
- Does this tool upload my data?
