About
This tool uses pdf-lib, a pure JavaScript PDF library, to merge your documents entirely inside the browser — no server involved at any step. You can add as many PDFs as you need, reorder them by dragging or using the arrow buttons, and remove any file before merging. Because no data is ever transmitted, your documents remain completely private even when handling sensitive contracts, reports, or personal records.
How to use
- Drop your PDF files onto the drop zone, or click it to open a file picker. You can add multiple files at once.
- Your files appear in a list. Drag and drop rows or use the ↑ ↓ buttons to set the page order of the final PDF.
- Remove any file you don't need by clicking the ✕ button next to it.
- Click 'Merge PDFs'. The tool combines all files in order using pdf-lib, entirely in your browser.
- The merged PDF downloads automatically to your device as 'merged.pdf'. No upload, no waiting.
FAQ
- Is the PDF merger free?
- Yes, completely free. There are no usage limits, no subscription fees, and no account required — ever.
- Do you upload my files to a server?
- No — 100% in-browser. pdf-lib processes everything locally inside your browser tab. Your PDFs are never sent to any server, cloud service, or third party.
- Does it work offline without an internet connection?
- Yes. Once the page has loaded, the tool runs fully offline. No network connection is needed to merge or download your PDF.
- How many PDF files can I merge at once?
- There is no fixed limit — you can merge as many PDFs as your browser's memory allows. For very large batches (hundreds of MBs total), processing may take a few seconds.
- Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
- Password-protected PDFs that require a password to open cannot be merged. Remove the password protection first using the original application, then merge the unlocked files here.
