About

This tool uses pdf-lib, a pure JavaScript PDF library, to split or extract pages entirely inside your browser — no server is involved at any point. You can extract a specific range (e.g. pages 2-5, 8) or split every page into its own PDF file. Because no data is ever transmitted, sensitive documents such as contracts, medical records, or financial reports stay completely private.

How to use

  1. Drop a PDF onto the drop zone, or click it to select a file from your device.
  2. Choose a mode: 'Extract page range' to pull out specific pages, or 'Split into single pages' to separate every page into its own file.
  3. If you chose range mode, type your page numbers in the box — for example: 1-3,5,8.
  4. Click 'Process PDF'. pdf-lib handles everything locally inside your browser tab.
  5. Download the extracted PDF or individual page files — one click per file, or 'Download all' when splitting into single pages.

FAQ

Is the PDF splitter free?
Yes, completely free. There are no usage limits, no subscription fees, and no account required.
Do you upload my files to a server?
No — 100% in-browser. pdf-lib processes your PDF entirely inside your browser tab. Nothing is ever sent to a server, cloud service, or any third party.
Does it work offline without an internet connection?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, the tool runs fully offline. No network connection is needed to split or download your PDFs.
How do I extract only certain pages from a PDF?
Select 'Extract page range' mode, then type the pages you want — for example '2-5,8,10' extracts pages 2 through 5, plus pages 8 and 10. The result downloads as a single PDF containing just those pages.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
PDFs that require a password to open cannot be processed. Remove the password protection using the original application first, then use this tool on the unlocked file.
